Google Business Profile: how to win more customers for free
The Business Profile is the most underrated free tool for local businesses. It appears before your website in many searches, and a well-kept profile can be the difference between the phone ringing or not. Here is what actually makes a difference.
The foundation: everything filled in, everything correct
Name, category, services, hours, service area and contact details. Google's algorithm rewards complete profiles, and customers trust them more.
Choose your primary category with care — it decides which searches you can even appear in. Add secondary categories for your other services.
Photos that show reality
Profiles with real photos — work, premises, team — get more clicks and more direction requests than those with just a logo. Upload new photos regularly; it signals the business is active.
Reviews: ask, reply, repeat
Count, rating and above all how recent the reviews are affect both ranking and customer choice. Make it a habit to ask for a review after every finished job.
Always reply. It shows both Google and potential customers that you care.
Posts and questions keep the profile alive
Publish updates about current offers or projects. Answer questions in the Q&A section before someone else does — anyone can answer, and the answers are public.
Measure what the profile delivers
The profile's insights show calls, direction requests and website clicks. Follow it over time and you can see whether the work actually brings more customers — and what is worth reinforcing with ads.
